Fences – Post & Rail, Privacy, Custom

Wood fences are beautiful, traditional, and enhance our landscapes and properties. Fences are used to mark a boundary, accent a property, and when needed, provide privacy and security.
We offer a variety of fence styles and most have the option of being built using tamarack larch, hemlock, or pressure treated wood.

Scarf Fence

This a very traditional and sturdy fence which will last for many years. A much sought after style, we have been told by some of our customers that they have been looking everywhere for this fence and are happy to see that we are making it. Posts are 5 inches in diameter and come in the 2 rail (6.5 ft.) and 3 rail (8 ft.) options. The rails are 3 inches in diameter and come in 8 foot and 10 foot lengths.

Doweled Fences

Doweled Fencing
The doweled fence is known for its straight lines and hefty rails. This substantial fence comes with 5 inch diameter round posts and 4 inch diameter round rails. It is available in 2, 3 and 4 rail options.

Country Classic

Country Classic
The Country Classic fence is a larger version of the Suburban Select and is also used as an accent fence for flowers and shrubs or to define a property line. The posts are 5 inches in diameter and 8 feet long, paired with 2 inch by 8 foot rails. This fence has an element of flexibility for uneven ground and is easy to install.

Suburban Select

Suburban Select Fencing
The suburban select fence is perfect for small properties to define a boundary or corner and is often used as an accent fence for flowers and shrubs. The posts are 4 inches in diameter and 6 feet long, paired with 2 inch by 6 foot rails. This fence has an element of flexibility for uneven ground and is easy to install.

Post and Plank

This is a favourite for horse owners, a sturdy, economical fence that can be used to keep livestock in or create a boundary wherever one is needed. The posts are square timbers and we can supply sizes to meet the needs of your project and budget. The post and plank fence is available in rough or dressed lumber.

Rustic Larch Split Rail

Larch Split Rail Fencing
Split-rail fencing has a rougher, more rustic appearance, as its name suggests. Larch logs are quartered on the sawmill to create a fence that can be used as a boundary fence or to accent your landscaping projects. The rails are available in 8 foot lengths.

Privacy & Custom

The flexibility of wood enables us to provide a service that you won’t get from a chain store. Custom sizing and drilling of posts, rails and lumber gets you the results you want for your project.

Privacy Fence

Privacy Fence
This fence has many options for height, level of privacy, and esthetics. It can be quite rustic when constructed with rough lumber or if you like a more finished look, the lumber can be dressed to a smooth finish. Durable, solid, real wood for a fence that will last for many years.

Properties of Hemlock for Fences and Lumber

Hemlock has historically been used for bridges, planks, sills, boxes, crates and general construction. It is best used for heavy planking and timbers.

Properties of Larch for Fences and Lumber

Wood from the tamarack larch tree (also commonly known as hackamatack and juniper) is very hard and strong. This strong, durable wood has historically been used for building wharves, ships, bridges, and for fence posts. As flooring and decking, it has a unique, natural beauty. Larch has a high resin content which serves as a natural preservative that gives it a long life without the use of chemical pressure treatment and is a “green” alternative to pressure treated wood.
